Day 28 – A book you couldn’t put down.
Many of them–I belong to the One More Page club. I read past bedtime!
But a recent one is Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes.
Even though I knew how it was going to end, having heard of this book before I read it… This is an example of a first-person book that really works. You’re reading Charlie’s diary, inside his mind, and it’s heart wrenching and griping. I had to follow the story to the end, see exactly what Charlie had to say as his last recorded words.
It’s a good thing it’s fairly short, so I went to sleep not too late.
