I post my What If Story questions on Tuesday. (Usually the last Tuesday of the month.) Anyone who wants to give me an answer can put it in the comments. On Saturday, I’ll post my short story based on those answers. If anyone wants to write a story based on the question, put a link to your post in the comments.

Try to keep your answers short–about tweet length. I’ll keep the stories short, too.

Have fun!

Question #2: What’s your favorite number? If you could have your favorite number of anything on a deserted island, what would you pick?

About Caitlin Stern

I have a MA in English, and have so many fantasy/urban fantasy WIPs it's not even funny. I'm an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, biography, fiction, and anything else that catches my interest. I collect books, and bookmarks I find that are visually appealing and useful.

I’m going with two. Two people. Two hearts. Dinner for two. Second chances (two). Two’s company. Two to tango. You get my drift. And two alone on a deserted island could be…fun!

I see you’re not concerned with escaping!
But I like you, so I’ll picture your theoretical island with mild weather, fruit trees, a clean stream with fat lazy fish in it, and useful items conveniently washed up in the surf…

      • Marcia says:

Yes, exactly! Why let a perfectly good deserted island go to waste? I’m spearing fish with a pointy stick and my able-bodied (accent on the ABLE) companion will build a fire to bake them over, and we will live on coconut milk and love! Aaaaah. And then, when that finally gets old…say 8 or 10 years down the road…we have all the makings for a good psychotic murder episode. *wicked grin*
