Spring is here!

Bluebonnets, Primrose, Indian Blankets, Black Eyed Susans, Winecups, Coreopsis, Indian Paintbrush… the sides of the Texas highways and people’s yards are dotted with color. The chaos of it is pretty to look at, abstract shapes blending and merging into each other.

Tender shoots unfurling

spreading green blades

to catch the sun

Each slender stalk

flourishing yellow-edged crimson umbrellas

gatherings of sky and cloud

or pale pink cups

lifted to scent the breeze

winged things to alight

About Caitlin Stern

I have a MA in English, and have so many fantasy/urban fantasy WIPs it's not even funny. I'm an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, biography, fiction, and anything else that catches my interest. I collect books, and bookmarks I find that are visually appealing and useful.

Oh, beautiful! We have phlox blooming now, laying a purple blanket across all the pastures. Lovely poem!
