Hungry Geometry

Bright flashes

over smooth muddy water

scales catching sun

fins flinging fish

through wavering brown glass

hopscotch arcs

a game

with murderous intent

each arc intersecting

an insect flying low

A waterfowl skims the same surface

hungry geometry

carried on feathered wings

About Caitlin Stern

I have a MA in English, and have so many fantasy/urban fantasy WIPs it's not even funny. I'm an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, biography, fiction, and anything else that catches my interest. I collect books, and bookmarks I find that are visually appealing and useful.

I really, really love your poetry, Caitlin. You manage to say so much, with a beautiful economy of words. Great job!

I loved the little splashes throughout the poem! And it’s really cool to see the view that inspired the poem too.
