A couple weeks ago, I got something I bought as an after-Christmas present in the mail–all the way from London. Isn’t it so fun to get things in the mail? The impatient part of me likes when things ship quickly, but there’s something nice about mail that takes a while.

It’s a surprise when you receive it. You stare at the mail for a moment, and then you remember. Ah, yes, that thing you got! It’s here!

I’m currently using it for its intended purpose, saving my place in a book I got in the mail on the very same day, which I really need to finish so I can review it. And then it will join the pile of growing bookmarks, making the question ‘do you have too many bookmarks?’ and even firmer, ‘yes.’ Not that such things will stop me.

What beautiful excessive items have you gotten lately?

About Caitlin Stern

I have a MA in English, and have so many fantasy/urban fantasy WIPs it's not even funny. I'm an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, biography, fiction, and anything else that catches my interest. I collect books, and bookmarks I find that are visually appealing and useful.
