Probably any writer has seen a story prompt or seven, little snippets that are supposed to get you started on a story idea. This one has probably been in something, somewhere, but it sort of floated in my mind one day and spawned a bunch of possibilities.

She walked into the bar, studying the room as she went, gaze stopping on a man sitting in one of the booths. He glanced up, saw her, and shoved out of his seat.
“You!” He yelled.
She took two more steps, and brought up the glass she held by her side, tossing its contents into his face in one smooth motion.
Water flecked with bits of greenery streamed down his chin, dripping on his shirt. His eyes rolled back in their sockets, and three quick steps brought her close enough to shove him backwards, so when he fainted he slumped into the booth instead of falling to the floor.
Several second later, his eyes opened. “What?” He wiped at his face, and stared at his damp fingers.
“Next time you try to summon a demon, be more careful,” the woman tucked the now-empty glass into her satchel. “It might not be an easy to get rid of one, like Rat is. And you’re welcome.”
She pivoted and strode out of the bar without waiting for him to finish speaking, the door swinging shut a moment too late to cut off her muttering: “Amateurs.”
