I made resolutions–ten for a Top Ten, some of which are more important than others–and we’re now more than halfway through the year, so I’m doing an update. But only on the ones I’ve made progress on that’s different from my previous update.

Read TBR pile

There were 11 books sitting on a shelf when I started, so I settled on one a month, leaving December free. I read 2 for July, 1 for August, and 1 for September–which means I’m done early!

Otherwise, I absolutely wrecked my numbers with several bookstore trips, a couple book signings, and two unexpected gift boxes of books–22 new books this quarter. The 10 of these I’ve read barely even puts a dent in the pile. Where’s your time travel when you need it?

The never ending TBR pile. Left is gifts, top two on right are Little Library loans, rest are purchases.

Work on Kindle backlog

I keep getting more of these, of course, but I decided to read at least one a week.  At the beginning of the year, I had 65 unread ebooks, and now I have 31. Serious progress!

I’ve been exceeding the 8,000 steps most every day, but I haven’t been doing quite so well that I feel like I can meet the average 10,000 goal every day. Something to work on, still.

Walk dogs at the shelter

Some circumstances beyond my control–and my inherent lack of morning person skills–means that I haven’t been doing well with this. But I walked two dogs, at least–the first this year.

Spend more time with family

Not as good this quarter, with only one family hang out, but it’s better than nothing. It’s amazing how hard it can be to coordinate schedules with some who lives in the same city as you. I did, however, manage to visit a friend in another city once as well. And the season of family oriented holidays approaches, so the end of the year should be more sociable.
