April is National Poetry Month. I’m celebrating with Writer’s Digest’s Poem a Day Challenge. Today’s prompt is to write a swing poem.

National Poetry rose

Fierce competition over the swings

a row of black plastic seats

dangling from metal chains

gravel scuffed in long divots under each

a vehicle to the sky

with each push and lean

the pendulum grows

a zen meditation

recess escape

unfettered even if

in truth

still chained by gravity

About Caitlin Stern

I have a MA in English, and have so many fantasy/urban fantasy WIPs it's not even funny. I'm an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, biography, fiction, and anything else that catches my interest. I collect books, and bookmarks I find that are visually appealing and useful.
