April is National Poetry Month. I’m celebrating with Writer’s Digest’s Poem a Day Challenge. Today’s direction is to write an across the sea poem.

Birthplace

I was born across the sea

inside a wall

that divided a war-weary city

Years later, they tore the wall down

and cheered

by then I was far away

Someday I would like to go back

to see what they built

in its place

About Caitlin Stern

I have a MA in English, and have so many fantasy/urban fantasy WIPs it's not even funny. I'm an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, biography, fiction, and anything else that catches my interest. I collect books, and bookmarks I find that are visually appealing and useful.
