I found a poetry generator, and it creates some lovely, lyrical lines. Which inspired a poem about… something. Sometimes a poem is more of a feeling, and less an idea that makes sense.

Cold Mountains of Tears

Far above the trees, where the wind wields chill blades,

on the cold mountain of tears young lovers whisper,

sharing secrets brittle as spider-silk glass that shatter

at the touch of a stranger’s passing glance, piercing hearts.

Only in splendid, deadly isolation, muffled by unending snow,

can the past be unraveled and a hourglass future built, as

on the cold mountain of tears young lovers whisper,

warmed by the pyre lit from the hopes of their hearts.

Nothing rises from the ashes of that pyre, but roses bloom

on cheeks, breath rising to the sky to join the ringing clouds

that swath the peaks in wedding veils, while up high

on the cold mountain of tears young lovers whisper.
