December 26: Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward to In 2018 (These could be new releases, or books you resolve to read, ten debuts we are looking forward to, etc.)

These are all being released in 2018. I’m excited to read them all! In alphabetical order, as always. A few don’t have covers yet.

1. Magic Triumphs; Ilona Andrews. I love Kate Daniels and her world so much!

2. Burn Bright; Patricia Briggs. Bad@ss werewolf who still manages to be  quite nice.

3. Smoke and Iron; Rachel Caine. Magic and books, my favorite combination.

4. The Kingdom of Copper; S.A/ Chakraborty. The first book was an exciting mix of magic and politics, and I’m eager to see what happens next.

5. Sorcerer Royal; Zen Cho. A sequel to a great first book.

6. Obsidio; Amie Kaufman. I adore this epistolary style sci fi adventure series.

7. Night and Silence; Seanan McGuire. I’m always ready for more Toby and the gang.

8. Tempests and Slaughter; Tamora Pierce. This author has a way with world building, so I’m interested to see this revisiting of old characters.

9. Fierce like a Firestorm; Lana Popovic. The end of the last book surprised me, I’m curious what’s next.

10. The Prince and the Dressmaker; Jen Wang. The only book on this list by an author I haven’t read before, but it just looks so dang cute!

Good list, several of which I’m looking forward to, as well, particularly Magic Triumphs, and Smoke & Iron, which I’m DYING to get my hands on! I just love that series. I heard Rachel Caine was going to publish a new Weather Warden book, too, which is big news for me. I adored that series, and the spin-off.

As for the new Briggs book, I’ll be reading it, as well. (I hope when you mention bad-ass werewolf, you don’t mean Mercy?? She’s a coyote, you know. 😀 ) And as for Seanan McGuire, well, Toby is always wonderful, and then there’s Tybalt. One of my favorite characters in any series. I do love the King of Cats! 😀

Nice list! Happy reading in 2018.

    • I thought that was an Alpha & Omega book, not a Mercy book. Perhaps I got confused…

      You, too. Happy reading!

Well, of COURSE it is! And boy, am I glad. I really like the A&O spinoff, and a new book in the series would be great!. And yes . . . scary but nice werewolf involved there!! In fact, I like Charles better than Adam. Glad to find out I wasn’t paying close enough attention. 😀 Marking my calendar for these new releases now. Some, I will go ahead and preorder, for sure. This would be one. Thanks for the clarification. (I wondered how you would forget that about Mercy. Doh!)
