February 27: Books I Could Re-read Forever
- Pride & Prejudice; Jane Austen. A lot of their obstacles are in their heads, but they get over it. Also, Austen has great sass.
2. Matilda; Roald Dahl. Because I will never outgrow my love of books, or wishing I had powers.
3. Hellspark; Janet Kagan. Because it always makes me think.
4. Take a Thief; Mercedes Lackey. Another series I adore, but I especially like this one.
5. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened; Jenny “The Bloggess” Lawson. It always makes me laugh.
6. Hogfather; Terry Pratchett. Really, many of this series could make this list… but this is one of my particular favorites.
7. Steel City Magic; Wen Spencer. Technically two books, but I got them in a single volume. a great mix of magic and technology, where Elfhome overlaps Earth.
8. Reamde; Neal Stephenson. Weird, complicated, and over 1,000 pages long, so you get plenty out of it.
9. The Scorpio Races; Maggie Stiefvater. Killer horses from the sea. Good fun.
10. The Martian; Andy Weir. Science. And explosions!
I like seeing a Stiefvator book on here!
😀 She is a favorite of mine.
Matilda was one of my favourites as a kid! My heart hurt for the way she was treated by her parents but loved her voracious interest in reading 🙂
Sometimes life isn’t so great, but hers works out in the end. I saw the musical, too. It was amazing!
I tried getting tickets for the musical but I was too late 😦
That’s too bad. If it did well enough, maybe there will be a second tour.
I enjoyed The Martian too. Much more than I expected! Great list. I adore Matilda. I’m working my way through the Road Dahls with my little boy at the moment so maybe this is a sign that she will have to be next 😀
Seems like it must be! 🙂
I have a copy of Scorpio Races but haven’t read it yet. Glad to see you recommend it!
Hope you enjoy it when you read it! 🙂
