Since this is National Poetry Month, I decided I should have at least one poem on purpose–and not just from a challenge. Inspired by The Time Traveler’s Almanac–not a story in particular, but the cumulative effect of reading 300 pages (out of 943) has warped my brain a little.

Twice

If you could travel to one day

in your past

with a time machine to show you the way

and take you right back

would you take the risk that you could

a second time around

live your life better–make good

on some dream

that never came true?

Is there something you did

you’d give anything to undo?

Or would you reject that marvelous invention

and live your life

in chronological convention?

About Caitlin Stern

I have a MA in English, and have so many fantasy/urban fantasy WIPs it's not even funny. I'm an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, biography, fiction, and anything else that catches my interest. I collect books, and bookmarks I find that are visually appealing and useful.
