1. The Furthest Station; Ben Aaronovitch. Magic police in London, doing their best.
2. The Language of Thorns; Leigh Bardugo. Dark fairytales.
3. Ladycastle; Delilah Dawson. Lady heroes.
4. Indigo; Charlaine Harris, Christopher Golden, et al. Some cool authors in this book.
5. A Peace Divided; Tanya Huff. Torin Kerr is just awesome.
6. Shadowsong; S. Jae-Jones. Goblin Market inspired book, part 2.
7. A Scandal in Battersea; Mercedes Lackey. Sherlock Holmes… and Elemental magic.
8. Redder Than Blood; Tanith Lee. Vampire Snow White? Sold!
9. Down Among the Sticks and Bones; Seanan McGuire. A Home for Wayward Children… children with stories to tell.
10. The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O; Neal Stephenson. Because I like the author.

Good list, as always, Caitlin. I’ve already added Thorns, because, Bardugo! Yay! And I’m starting with the beginning on the Tanya Huff series, because I like to do related series in order.
I tried my best to read the first Aaronovitch London book, and slogged halfway through it, when I realized that in spite of having everything I love in a book, I was bored senseless. I’m not sure why. The writing was pretty solid, but for some reason, not one character felt real, or if they did, I didn’t care about them. I put it in my Books Never Finished folder, and will give it a go another day. Sometimes timing is everything.
I like Seanan McGuire, but this series didn’t do it for me, so I’ll be interested in what you think. I’m hanging in there for Toby Daye’s next book. 🙂
One of these days, I’m going to read Mercedes Lackey. You keep mentioning her, and I still haven’t gotten there, but I do plan to. 🙂

Sometimes books just don’t work. It happens!
I don’t like the Incryptid books as much as the Toby books, I admit. And I’m not as fond of Antimony as Verity.
I agree on both counts, though Incryptid is fun, most of the time. But even after reading the entire book, I still don’t care much for Antimony. I’d much rather read about Verity. And Toby & Tybalt ROCK. 🙂
I wish it was the release day of The Language of Thorns. I love the Grishaverse and the cover of this book is so beautiful.
I’m with you, Rantsandraves. Kaz Brecker alone means I will read anything Bardugo ever writes, forevermore.

Wow, I just added several of these to my TBR list. I’m torn on Shadowsong. I feel like the Elemental Masters series has become sort of redundant in the last few books, but I do love Sherlock… Redder Than Blood and The Language of Thorns look great! I agree the books started stronger, but Sherlock… I’m getting it from the library, anyway, so I don’t have to finish it if I don’t want to. 🙂
