About Caitlin Stern

I have a MA in English, and have so many fantasy/urban fantasy WIPs it's not even funny. I'm an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, biography, fiction, and anything else that catches my interest. I collect books, and bookmarks I find that are visually appealing and useful.

Good list, as always, Caitlin. I’ve already added Thorns, because, Bardugo! Yay! And I’m starting with the beginning on the Tanya Huff series, because I like to do related series in order.

I tried my best to read the first Aaronovitch London book, and slogged halfway through it, when I realized that in spite of having everything I love in a book, I was bored senseless. I’m not sure why. The writing was pretty solid, but for some reason, not one character felt real, or if they did, I didn’t care about them. I put it in my Books Never Finished folder, and will give it a go another day. Sometimes timing is everything.

I like Seanan McGuire, but this series didn’t do it for me, so I’ll be interested in what you think. I’m hanging in there for Toby Daye’s next book. 🙂

One of these days, I’m going to read Mercedes Lackey. You keep mentioning her, and I still haven’t gotten there, but I do plan to. 🙂

I always take note of your book lists! Thanks for such an interesting selection.

    • Sometimes books just don’t work. It happens!

I don’t like the Incryptid books as much as the Toby books, I admit. And I’m not as fond of Antimony as Verity.

      • Marcia says:

I agree on both counts, though Incryptid is fun, most of the time. But even after reading the entire book, I still don’t care much for Antimony. I’d much rather read about Verity. And Toby & Tybalt ROCK. 🙂

  2. I wish it was the release day of The Language of Thorns. I love the Grishaverse and the cover of this book is so beautiful.

Wow, I just added several of these to my TBR list. I’m torn on Shadowsong. I feel like the Elemental Masters series has become sort of redundant in the last few books, but I do love Sherlock… Redder Than Blood and The Language of Thorns look great! 4. I want to read A Language of Thorns, too!

Thank you for sharing your list! I am embarrassed to say that I haven’t read these books.
I am also an aspiring writer (currently working on the fourth draft of my first novel). I will follow you and I look forward to reading more of your works 🙂

Here is my T10T for this week: https://sophiexli.wordpress.com/2017/06/06/top-10-tuesday-fantasy-books-in-my-tbr/
